I recently presented a LinkedIn workshop to a group of manufacturing companies, and one of the delegates said ‘LinkedIn is just a game’ – spot on I thought – no truer words have been spoken.
To win, you must have a strategy – let’s look at chess for example – one of the oldest board games. It’s a classic strategy game where players use tactical thinking and long-term planning to outmanoeuvre their opponent and achieve checkmate.
The key to winning the LinkedIn game is to approach it with a mindset of genuine connection and value-giving. Forget about the numbers, the likes, and the shares.
Instead, focus on consistently building meaningful relationships, providing genuine help and advice, all while positioning yourself as a trusted expert. Do that, and the rest will follow – I promise!
It doesn’t have to be any more complicated – if it is, then go back to the basics.
Rhetorical questions…
Are you winning the LinkedIn game?
What can you do more of?
What can you do better?
Do you want to play the LinkedIn game but don’t know where to start? I can help…
